To Decomission or Remove a Residential Oil Tank
After pumping
all residual oil from the tank the following steps are followed:
- Step
One:
Remove
soil and expose the tank
- Step
Two:
- Tank
is cut open after removal of vent, fill and fuel lines.
- Step
Three:
- Tank
is opened, ready to be cleaned.
- Step
Four:
- All sludges
and remaining residuals are pumped out and removed by hand.
- Step
Five:
Tank
is wiped dry with oil absorbent rags and after it has been determined
that no holes exist in the tank, it is removed from the area and delivered
to a state approved tank yard.
- Step
Six:
- The open
excavation is filled and packed.
- Step
Eight:
- Sod or
Seeding can be done.
- Step
Nine:
- Tank
Decomissioning is complete.
